Top 5 Tools for Success in Public Education in a Multicultural Society
1. Blogging with other educators
Blogging with peers was by far the most helpful strategy in this class. I enjoyed reading different opinions and point of views and being able to share my opinions and experiences as well. Blogging offers a platform to learn and discuss ideas outside of the classroom.
2. Anticipation Guide
I found anticipation guides to be helpful and beneficial because it allowed me to alter the way I had been thinking. By taking time to assess my knowledge of a topic before I read, during, and after, I was given the opportunity to shift the way I had been thinking in regard to a certain topic.
3. Do's and Don'ts
DO's and DONT'S prompted me to do a lot of research on a topic I am unfamiliar with. Although I am an Ally, I still feel as if I am not doing my part nor do I have all the correct knowledge pertaining to the topic. This assignment and strategy gave me amazing insight on how to do and be better,
4. Social Media
Social Media played a huge role in the class this semester. It was very helpful and handy because most of our modules included videos, readings, and even tiktoks to help build our knowledge. All of these tools were extremely helpful for success in this class.
5. Reading and Writing to Express Ideas
By taking the time to read through the modules and then having to assess knowledge by writing a poem or our thoughts on the reading, it gave me the opportunity to deeply reflect of the seriousness of each and every topic.
